About

Zoran Nikolov, The web developer behind Instant Solutions

I build fast custom websites and online stores for small businesses — from the first call to launch and the support that follows. You talk directly to the person writing the code, in English or Bulgarian.

How I got here

Before I wrote code, I spent years on the other side — working with the kind of people I build websites for today. I was a manager at a national courier company, then worked on EU-funded projects for small businesses, and after that as a business analyst. Everywhere I saw the same thing: small business owners have no time for jargon and long explanations. They want to know what they're getting, what it costs and when it will be ready.

Programming started as curiosity and turned into a profession. I completed two software development programmes focused on JavaScript, and instead of waiting for a seat at a big IT company, I started building websites directly for clients. That way there are no middlemen and no broken telephone between the person with the problem and the person writing the solution.

Today I build websites alongside my job in technical support. There I solve problems every day for people who aren't technical — which is the best practice there is for explaining things in plain language. It also means something else: I don't take on ten projects at once. I take on as many as I can do well, and I run each one personally — from the first call to launch.

I'm based in Bulgaria and work with clients across Europe — including Bulgarian businesses abroad. Everything runs online, in English or Bulgarian, whichever suits you.

What your project gains

Business sense, not just code

I've managed people and processes. I know a website isn't an end in itself — it's a tool that has to create value and pay for itself.

I explain things in plain language

For years I've translated complex problems for people outside the industry. You'll get clear solutions, not a pile of IT jargon.

I don't run from problems

Working in technical support teaches you one thing: a problem doesn't go away if you ignore it. I just sit down and fix it.

What I believe in

Less code is better code

Every feature you add is something that can break. So only what genuinely adds value to your business goes into the project.

Speed isn't a bonus, it's the foundation

A website that loads slowly loses visitors before they've seen the content. Nothing else matters if this part isn't right.

Plain-language communication

I explain technical decisions in normal words. If something sounds like a magic spell, I haven't done my job of translating it for you.

The contract is for peace of mind

A written scope, timeline and ownership. Not for the paperwork's sake, but because one paragraph read upfront prevents most future misunderstandings.

What you won't hear from me

This industry often promises “everything to everyone”. I'd rather you knew my limits upfront — that way nobody ends up disappointed at the finish.

I'm not an agency

No departments, no account managers, and I don't run ten projects in parallel. So first we talk openly about whether I have the capacity for yours.

I won't promise you first place on Google tomorrow

I build the website to be technically right — fast, clean, properly marked up. But rankings also depend on your content, which is a separate process.

I don't pretend to know everything

If a project needs a technology I haven't worked with, I'll look into it and tell you straight — I can do it, or I wouldn't take it on.

I don't hide how I work

Timelines are set per project. If there's a delay that's my fault, I compensate the client instead of looking for excuses.

Outside client projects

When I'm not building websites for clients, I'm developing a browser game based on a book. It's entirely my own project, where I experiment with technologies and ideas not every business needs. Part of the reason I'm good at what I do is that I keep writing code and learning even when nobody is paying me for it.

What this means for you

Working directly with the developer has two sides. On the one hand, there are no agency mark-ups or overheads for you to pay. We talk directly, with nothing lost along the chain.

On the other hand, my capacity is limited. Our first call is always about whether we're a good fit. If I think your task needs a team or a different technology, I'll tell you so directly.

My terms are simple: I don't ask for a deposit for my work. You pay once the website is finished and you've approved it. Only the real costs are covered upfront — domain, hosting and licences, if the project needs them. And after launch you get 6 months of free technical support.

Let's see if we're a good fit

The first call is completely free and commits you to nothing. Tell me briefly about your idea and I'll reply with concrete next steps.
